As an NPI Engineer at XTEND Tampa, you will serve as the critical technical bridge between R&D and mass production. In an ecosystem that includes a Configuration Manager (focused on PLM/ECO) and a Production Engineer (focused on assembly and jigs), your role is to ensure that engineering designs are mature, high-quality, and scalable.
You will focus on hardware optimization, technical vendor management (EMS), and leading complex Transfer to Production (TTP) processes.
MBOM/ FCC- Technical evaluation of components
Main Responsibilities
- Engineering Focal Point.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between engineering and production teams, leading Design Reviews for DFM (Manufacturing), DFA (Assembly), and DFT (Testing).
- Transfer to Production (TTP).
- Lead NPI activities from prototype phase through mass production, ensuring smooth transition and preventing technical bottlenecks.
- Quality & Yield Management.
- Define Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) features, manage First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, and perform deep-dive Failure Analysis (RCA) on hardware components.
- Technical Interface.
- Maintain continuous technical communication with Contract Manufacturers (EMS) and strategic suppliers, both locally and globally.
- Content Integrity.
- Responsible for technical accuracy of product files, BOMs, and specifications before implementation into the PLM system by the Configuration Manager.
- Production Support (MBOM).
- Support production line bring-up, manage Alpha/Beta builds, and analyze production yields to ensure continuity and scalability.
